Crazy Uncle Boris

For as long as I can remember, Uncle Boris has always been there, riding our tricycles, getting inside our playhouse and walking around with it on, doing his famous Donald Duck impressions. We always have so much fun with him. He is such a big kid. When he is around, everyone knows there is something crazy he is going to do, that we will remember forever. I don’t want to get into too much, because there are way too many memories. I wanted to say what his latest crazy thing is. Okay, are you ready? He sold his beautiful log house, bought a bike, bought a “toy hauler” and he decided to take a trip down south to Florida to be Trailer Trash. Yup! That was his goal! He is proud to go be trailer trash on purpose. Now, I say great! That is awesome! He deserves it! But, its not too often you hear of someone wanting to be this way. He is sitting down there right now, loving life, and just being free! So, just thought that I’d share that with you. I think that Uncle Boris is the kind of guy you have to get to know, life is so much more fun with a guy like that around!

Tap Dancing

Tap is one of the styles of dance that I cannot get enough of. The quick movements and the awesome sounds are just enough to blow your mind. It looks so effortless when you see someone else doing it, but it is actually really hard, and that is what I love about it, the challenge. It is a great workout also, it really works your legs and your abs. I am sore for a week every time I dance. It is such a rush. Putting together a routine for the year end recital is fun, because you get something that you can practice with every night, and finally show off all your hard work. It is very fast, and hard to keep up with if you don’t know the moves yet. I am so excited for my recital, and so happy I started dancing again.

Adventures with Briana!

My best friend Briana and I always go on “adventures”. We love to just pick something random to do, and go for it! She was home from college last weekend because it was her reading week, and we decided we wanted to have a fun adventure. So, we knew that we wanted to go shopping, and we knew that we wanted to go see Alice in Wonderland. So, I had suggested that we go downtown and shop along Bank st. because they have tons of neat little stores. Then I found out that the world exchange plaza had a movie theatre. Perfect! I thought. We could go grab our tickets for the movie, and then shop for a while, then come back and watch it. And that is what we did. We got downtown, walked to the World Exchange, bought our tickets, and we started walking down Bank st. Now, we know that bank is long, and we weren’t planning on going too far, but we ended up walking from Albert st. all the way down to Fifth st. in the Glebe. It took us an hour to walk all that way. And it didn’t bother us one bit. We talked the whole time, and poked in and out of random little stores. On our way back up, we passed Mrs. Tiggy Winkles. We decided to go in because the two of us LOVE that store, and it has a humorous name. we probably spent almost an hour in there. We love to look around and play with things that amuse us. The knick-knack shelf is the best. All sorts of little random things that are the most amusing things in the entire store. We probably got a lot of looks from the people in there because we kept playing with the toys, and then laughing our heads off at them. We decided that we HAD to get at least one thing. So, we decided to get some goo. Goo is the greatest. It is so much fun! After that, we walked back up to Albert and went to see the movie…..which was awesome by the way.

Gerard Butler……Need I say more?

One of the hottest men of Hollywood in my opinion. Gerard is sexy, cute, and funny. He does the romantic which I love, as well as the comedy, and of course, the dramatic. I am also lucky to have a boyfriend who looks a lot like him in many ways. I have my own, personal Gerard Butler!

Procrastination

We are all guilty of it. Waiting till the last second to do an assignment, not doing a very good job of it, and stressing out the night before it’s due. But there is something about doing it that really gives you a rush. That is why keep doing it, or else we would’ve learned our lesson by now, and stopped doing it. Take this week for example. Finals. Last week of school. I know that I have huge assignments due, and I STILL procrastinated this weekend. You cannot escape it! The problem is when you know about an assignment weeks before it is due, you put it off thinking you have lots of time to do it, and then, before you know it, those weeks are over, and your are rushing to finish the project the night before it is due.

So, when I have a hard time writing, I turn to other people for ideas. In this case, my best friend Briana. She and I have a blast together. We share the same sense of humor. And when I need her for some random, kooky topics, she is always there to help me out! So, today I text messaged her for some ideas, and this is a list of the things I got. Concrete stairwells, fake security cameras, cheerios, wool mitts, turkey bacon, croutons, Elvis lamp, socket wrench, great Dane, comedy club, talk radio, lasers, the conservatives, monks, palm trees, nimbus cloud, potato skins, 99 red balloons, internet connection, customer service, fridge light, poppy seeds, and larvae. So, as you can see, I was very entertained and laughing the whole time. That is why we are such good friends.

Onion Soup

Onion soup is delicious. No matter who makes it, or where you get it, it is just plain awesome. It isn’t very hard to make either. All you do is make a basic onion soup, and then you slice some toasted bread, put it on top of the soup, then put some Gruyere cheese on top, and shred some mozzarella and sprinkle it on the top. Then, you stick the bowls of soup into the oven, and broil it for 5 minutes, or until it is golden brown. MMM, onions, soggy bread, multiple cheeses! And then, my favorite part, you EAT!

Music

Music is one thing that I cannot live my life without. If you gave me a choice between TV and music, and I only get to keep one, I would choose music. Everything in life can be made better when there is music playing. It has such a feel good quality to it. Songs can be related back to anything in life. This is the best part about it. Almost everything in life can be related back to any song. I know this because I have experienced it. And I laugh about it, and quote it every time. Some of the best music for me is anything before my time. I love the stuff of today, but I really appreciate the classics. If it doesn’t have a melody though, then it is not as fun. You have to be able to dance to it, and sing along at the same time. It is a lot more fun that way.

Laughter…the best medicine

There is nothing better than a good laugh. Some say it is the best medicine for you. I believe that is true. There has never been a time when I was down, that something funny didn’t cheer me up. Whether it is your family, TV or movies, there is always a source of laughter.

Let’s begin with the family. Mine is great. We always have a good time, and we always make each other laugh. I am probably the only 19 year old girl who would rather hang out with her family than her friends. Their family, they get you. I have never been embarrassed by them, like most kids are. My dad, has a little dance that he does, and if we are at the movies or out somewhere, he will do it to try and embarrass my sister and I. But it doesn’t. We usually join in the fun, we have never cared what other people think, and that would be no fun. It has gotten to me. Whenever I do go out with friends, say, shopping, or to the movies, if a good song is playing in the background, I will start to sing and dance. My friends get all embarrassed and tell me to stop, but I don’t, because I’m being myself, and not afraid to do so. I have rubbed off a little on my best friend though.

Ok, now, TV. There are many shows on TV that tickle my funny bone. Do I even need to say the name of the first show? I think it is pretty obvious. Family Guy. Yes, Family Guy. That famous fat guy in green pants we all know and love. I love that show. I’ve always been told I have a guy’s sense of humor. That must be true because this show is my humor to a tee. I watch those episodes over and over, and every time, it is just as funny as the first.

Another show includes Bugs Bunny. THAT is a classic cartoon for both kids and adults. I grew up watching it, and my parents grew up watching it. I know every episode by heart, and when I watch it, I say the line coming up, and I still laugh just as hard as I did when I saw it the first time. Watch out though, I tend to quote things from these shows in everyday life, and I take a laughing fit every time.

PhotoShop Madness!

Lately, I’ve really been getting into doing tutorials I find. I became a fan of Photoshop on facebook, and they constantly post new tutorials. I do them as they come. There are so many ideas and tricks that I never even knew you could do with Photoshop. I am really learning a lot, and implementing everything into different projects I do. Take a look at some things I’ve done.

This one is cool. I can use it for lots of things.

This is neat, it’s amazing what you can do.

I love the hanging effect with the colors.

Just a little creepy, but cool effect.

So far, my fav. I didn’t know you could make a “painted” picture.
